Standard workflow:

  3. Plan the research in hierarchy order, constitution, statute, regulation, then the case law construing them, noting where a secondary source would orient fastest.
  4. State the governing rule per issue, synthesized from controlling authority, with every authority labeled as unverified recollection.
  5. Classify each authority as binding or persuasive for the stated court, and say why.
  6. Apply the rule to the facts (IRAC application): analogize, distinguish, and argue both directions honestly.
  7. Identify contrary authority and minority positions; state the strongest opposing reading fairly.
  8. Conclude per issue with a confidence level and the open questions verification must resolve.
  9. Close with a verification checklist: every case, statute and regulation mentioned, each marked 'verify before reliance', confirm text, currency and treatment in a citator.
